Special Olympics Canada is proud to offer year-round programming to over 38, 000 individuals with an intellectual disability across the country. These athletes participate, on average, in at least two programs each year.

Programs include:

Summer sports - Athletics, 5 Pin Bowling, 10 Pin Bowling, Basketball, Bocce, Golf, Powerlifting, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Soccer, Softball and Swimming.

Winter sports - Alpine Skiing, Cross Country, Curling, Figure Skating, Floor Hockey, Snowshoeing and Speed Skating.

Participation in these programs provides these athletes with an opportunity to:
  • Improve their physical fitness and conditioning
  • Improve their balance, co-ordination and body control 
  • Increase their sports and competitive skills
  • Increase their self confidence and social skills
  • Combine training and competition in a fun, inclusive environment
